Maps
and Directions
The Lucky Dog Lodge
is centrally located in rural Galva, IL. We are only a few miles south
of I-80, and easily accessable from Peoria, Galesburg, or the Quad Cities.
You can click on the map below to get an interactive map from MapQuest
as well as driving directions. If you'd prefer, our general directions
with landmarks are available below.
Directions
from I-80:
Take exit 33 off of I - 80, this exit is labeled Kewanee and/or highway
78. You'll be going south at this exit.
Follow this road over the hills and dales about 11 miles you'll get to
Kewanee, you'll stay on this road all through town, under the skywalk,
through the lights, etc. You'll stay on this main road, it stays highway
78 through town, and highway 34 hooks up with 78 although you won't notice
it.
So, you're now south of Kewanee, back to the hills and dales, you are
on highway 78/34 still going south. About 3 miles south of Kewanee you'll
come to a place where highway 78 takes a left away from the road you are
on. You'd actually have to get in the left turn lane to go onto 78, but
you DON'T want to do that. You want to stay on hwy 34.
As you stay on hwy 34, you round a curve and are going west now.
You want to look at your speedometer at that junction, because our turn
is exactly 3 miles further west on hwy 34. Also, conveniently, it is the
third cross road.
There is a sign that says Lafayette to the left, airport to the right,
you'll be turning towards Lafayette (left). There is a farmhouse on the
left before the turn, and a Tyson place on the right after the turn. (Midland
road or 2350 road). You'll turn left (south) here.
So, you've turned left and are now heading south. You'll be looking for
the first cross roads, which amazingly enough is exactly one mile from
where you turned!
This is OUR road, it is called County Road. You'll be taking a left onto
the gravel side. The Lodge is on the left, about 3/4 of a mile up, you
can't miss it. [back

Directions
from Peoria/I-74:
Head west thru/past Peoria on I-74. You are looking for the Canton/Kewanee
exit, also labeled Hwy 78.
You'll take this exit and make a right to the North on Hwy 78, towards
Kewanee.
Stay on Hwy 78 for about 23-24 miles, long straight, but nice road. You
will eventually come to a stop sign, and a 'T' in the road.
You'll want to take a left at the stop sign. From this point you want
to watch your speedometer, as the next turn is exactly three miles (and
conveniently 3 crossroads) from this turn.
At the third crossroad, you'll see a sign that says Lafayette to the left,
Airport to the right. You'll be turning left. There is a farmhouse on
the left right before the turn, and an IBP facility on the right, across
from the turn. The road is Midland Road or 2350.
After turning left, you'll go one mile to the first crossroad, this is
our road! You'll be turning left once again, onto the gravel side of the
road. This is County Road.
The Lodge on the left, about 3/4 of a mile up, you can't miss it. [back

Directions
from Geneseo:
The simplest way to find us is to head east on I-80 and then follow the
directions for finding us from I-80. If you would
prefer the backcountry directions, just email
us and we'll be happy to give them to you. [back to

Directions
from Galesburg:
Go via 17/34 to/thru Galva, out the east side of Galva (you are just on
34 at that point, as 17 veers off to the south in the middle of Galva).
From the east edge of Galva, the turn towards the Lodge is almost exactly
3 miles. There is an IBP plant on the North (left) side of the road right
before the turn, and a little farmhouse on the south (right) side right
after the turn. The road has a sign that says Lafayette to the right, airport
to the left, the road name is Midland Road or 2350 Road.
Turn to the right (south). After the turn, go one mile to the very first
crossroads. This is our road, it is gravel to the left, hard road to the
right. Turn left (east) on the gravel side. The Lodge is on the left (north)
side of the road, about 3/4 of a mile down. [back to
